Dą Yũ Tình Hoc Trò
On Saturday July 25, 2009 longtime VCF supporter Winston Ninh and his friends in San Antonio Texas held a music filled event to support the Vietnam Children's Fund.
They raised over $1500 and we thank and acknowledge all those who make this such a success including:
Lexi, Linda, QChau: poster, advertisements, mailing, singing, setups, decoration, and cleanup
Ngoc Khanh: poster and advertisement on Bao Tre
Maly and her boys: practice space, singing, and cleanup

Lam Dong
While the Citigroup school dedication is scheduled for September, the school celebrates its completion in May. Another event is planned for spring 2010 when VCF Board Member Judy Lorigan and Carly Zalenski, founder of Kids Building Hope Foundation and a major donor, visit the school. The Union League Club and Mr. H. F. Lenfest were also major contributors to the building of this school.
Long An
Drawings and estimated costs have been submitted to the Duc Hoa District project management department for approval. Groundbreaking is scheduled within the next ten days, at which time we will honor American Eagle and Li and Fung, our generous donors for this school.
Da Nang
Friends of Danang and India Company 3rd Battalion 9th Marines have funded a school with six classrooms which the Da Nang Department of Education has requested be built on two floors so that the school can be enlarged as needs arise. Soil tests are underway to determine the viability of this plan. VCF expects this school will be ready to dedicate April 2010, with the Friends of Danang and India Company as honored guests.
Thai Binh
Thai Binh, funded by Citigroup, Kids Building Hope, Mr. and Mrs. Chinh Chu, family and friends of the late Mr. Bert duAime and Mr. Binh Tran, is planned for the Vu Thu district. VCF hopes this school will be ready to dedicate April 2010.
Phu Yen
Funded by Brian Anstey, retired CEO of ACE-INA, and his family, this completed school will be dedicated in his honor when he next visits.
Schools in Construction ...
Thanks to the generous contributions of The India Company 3rd Battalion 9th Marines and Friends of Danang, a badly needed school will be constructed in the Danang area. The India Company and Friends of Danang pledged $50,000 each and together with the matched pledge by VCF and donations from individual donors over $150,000 will be raised to build the school. The Danang School's new
modern facility will serve up to 700 children and is scheduled to be dedicated in April 2010.

Schools Recently Built...
April 1, 2008 —Thanks to a 12 year old girl from Ohio, Carly Zalenski, who founded Kids Building Hope, Hoa Lac School is completed in the An Giang province of Southern Vietnam, deep in the Mekong Delta near the Cambodian border.
